Drop-out center design coupling for large shaft distances

The torsionally flexible, shear type shaft coupling POLY PKA is a drop-out center design coupling as a flange type for bridging large shaft distances.

Due to its flange connections the POLY PKA is a drop-out center design coupling (flange coupling). The flange type allows for radial assembly resp. disassembly of the shear type shaft coupling.

Driving and driven side do not have to be shifted axially. Apart from that larger shaft distances can be bridged by the (standard) drop-out center design part (spacer).

The POLY shaft coupling is a torsionally flexible shaft coupling (safety coupling) for general engineering. It can be plugged in axially and is characterized by its excellent compensaion of vibrations.

Its special feature are flexible elements (packages) in both coupling halves. Thanks to the individual elements it has shear type properties interrupting the power transmission with overland or wear of elements.

The shaft coupling POLY is particularly compact. That is why it is suitable for small shaft distances.

Operation of shear type shaft couplings:

The shear type POLY shaft coupling has particularly short dimensions and consists of two hubs with cam and pocket elements positioned on the circumference on the face that are mounted by blind axial plug-in.

The individual elastomers clamp in the tailor-made free spaces of the coupling hubs transmitting the torque in this way.

With overload or wear of the elements the power transmission is interrupted and the shaft coupling (safety coupling) shears.

Component variation of shear type shaft couplings:

High adaptability with small variation by an optimally differentiated kit system. The POLY elements of one size can easily be combined with each other without problems. This allow to meet various shaft distances with the same basic component.

This type is certified and confirmed according to directive 2014/34/EU as unit of category 2G/2D and thus suitable for the use in hazardous areas of zone G1, G2, D21 and D22.
