KTR is Hidden Champion
KTR is one of the hidden champions in North Rhine-Westphalia, according to the results of a recent study carried out by the Research Center for Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises (FZM) of the University of Trier on behalf of the Ministry of Economic Affairs, Innovation, Digitalization and Energy of North Rhine-Westphalia. Thus, KTR may count itself among the medium-sized companies that form the backbone of the North Rhine-Westphalian economy.
Hidden champions are market leaders in their industry and at the same time relatively unknown to the public. In this study, a total of 690 "hidden market leaders" were identified in NRW. These companies have a total turnover of more than 150 billion euros and employ almost 1 million people.
NRW has the most hidden champions in Germany, KTR is one of them
According to the study, North Rhine-Westphalia is home to the most hidden champions of all the German states and, at almost 30 percent, also has an above-average number compared to its economic strength (21 percent). In the Münsterland economic region, 62 hidden champions were identified, 19 of them in the Steinfurt district. Most companies in NRW are active in mechanical engineering (23.33 percent).
KTR Systems develops and produces mechanical couplings, brakes, coolers and hydraulic components for mechanical and plant engineering. The company was founded in 1959 in Rheine, Westphalia, and employs more than 1,100 people worldwide, nearly 500 of them in Germany. The global KTR network comprises 24 subsidiaries and 90 sales partners as well as manufacturing sites in Brazil, China, Germany, India, Taiwan and the USA.
