Values that make an impact – every day
Behind every product KTR develops, there is more than technical expertise. There is a mindset: the ambition to keep improving, to truly see people, and to take responsibility. What connects us is not just structure alone, but three values that guide our thinking and actions every day:
Our aspiration
For us, excellence is not an end state – it is a driving force. In our Strategy 2027, “Striving for Excellence” is the benchmark by which we measure ourselves: in the quality of our products, in the professionalism of our processes, and in the courage to try new things. Because without change, there can be no excellence.
How we work together
KTR is at home in more than 24 countries. Different cultures, languages, working styles, and perspectives are not a challenge for us – they are an advantage. Respect for the individual is the foundation on which this diversity works. For KTR, respect also means seeing the family behind the employee.
Our outlook for the future
As a family-owned company, we think in generations, not in quarters. That obliges us to make decisions today that will still matter decades from now: we define CO₂ reduction targets and openly communicate which sustainable measures we are implementing.
Striving for Excellence, there is simply no excellence without change. It is easier as a team: exchanging ideas, trying things out, and sometimes even failing.

General management
Time for a short journey back in time? It all began back in the 1950s. BoWex®, the first curved tooth coupling to combine steel and plastic, was developed at KTR’s headquarters in Rheine. This was shortly followed by ROTEX®, the first brand coupling to become a DIN standard. These successes fuel the imagination. And you can build on them – which is exactly what KTR does.
This brings us back to the present day. In addition to numerous standard products, every year KTR makes over 20,000 new developments and product versions on behalf of clients. To maintain this high standard, KTR always keeps things moving: the new R & D Center in Rheine and the new Competence Center for Brake Systems in Schloss Holte-Stukenbrock have done much to set the course for KTR’s future.
This course also happens to run around the whole world. A total of 24 subsidiaries and over 90 other sales partners worldwide now ensure that things always run smoothly for KTR customers.
There are three items: Global proximity to customers, growing internationalisation and our product portfolio.
