RADEX®-N Composite laminae coupling with spacer made of carbon fibre (CFRP)

The laminae coupling RADEX-N Composite is a standard series in a stainless design with spacers made of fibre composite material (usually carbon fibre CFRP).
Subject to the properties of CFRP material, large shaft distances with simultaneously high torques can be achieved.

Standard applications for this steel laminae coupling are, as an example, fans of cooling towers.

The heart of the RADEX-N steel laminae coupling are the laminae sets along with their connection to hubs and spacers. The high-strength and special dowel screws are reciprocally screwed to hubs and spacer allowing for a combination of friction and positive-locking fit. In this way our laminae coupling ensures high power density with simultaneous ease of displacement and low restoring forces.

The special design of the components of the RADEX-N laminae coupling allows for prestress of the laminae sets, increasing the torsional stiffness of the all-steel coupling by approx. 30 % and at the same time preventing axial vibrations of the spacer.

This type has been assessed and approved as equipment of category 2G/2D according to EU directive 2014/34/EU and is consequently suitable for use in potentially explosive areas of zones G1, G2, D21 and D22 .
