Anything which moves must also be able to brake.

KTR is one of only a handful of manufacturers worldwide to be able to offer two different braking systems: the hydraulic KTR-STOP® and the electromechanical EMB-STOP. Our hydraulical and electromechanical brake systems are globally used in various industries. Customer preference and parameters of the application decide on the selection of the right brake.

Fixed caliper brakes

The KTR-STOP fixed caliper brake (disk brake) is a typical hydraulic service brake used on the low torque side. All features of these hydraulic brakes are designed to operate reliably under adverse ambient conditions while generating low operating expenses.

Thruster brakes

This brake is spring-operated. In the event of a power failure, it engages and is released via a brake fan. The braking torque of the spring-operated disk brake and drum brake can be set on site.

STOP-BLOCK-TURN system

The SBT-System is made up of one or several disk brakes, locking elements and turning devices.Our SBT devices (Stopping - Blocking - Turning) are mainly used on propeller shafts in maritime applications: from small yachts to cruise ships or large supply vessels.

Rotor lock / locking pin

The rotor lock (locking bolt) is a locking system (rotor lock) that is used to lock the rotors of wind turbines mechanically in case of inspections. Rotor locks in wind turbines are important safety components.The hydraulically or electromechanically moved bolt with position monitoring serves as a locking mechanism for locking rotors. The locking function is monitored with sensors.
