KTR Website Announcement - New Products
|
ROTEX curve jaw couplings are now listed with Underwriters Laboratories UL 448A, flexible couplings and connecting shafts for stationary fire pumps. This listing provides an easy to assemble curve jaw coupling for fire pumps systems conforming to NFPA 20 - Standard for Installation of Stationary Pumps for Fire Protection. In addition to adherence to UL’s stringent test criteria – which included operating the coupling at maximum torque and speed without the elastomeric element – the ROTEX® standard coupling provides:
- Lubrication free design for reduced maintenance
- Steel construction with multiple clamping options
- Curve jaw design easing assembly and reducing restoring forces
- Urethane Spider, a balance between dampening and torque capacity

Coolers for marine applications
|
KTR has supplemented the range of OAC Oil/air coolers by adding a design for marine applications. The rough environment of civil navigation does not allow the use of unprotected aluminium coolers on deck. The salty air would damage the cooler sooner or later. The OAC is protected against oxidation by KTL dipping varnish, even in the area between the laminas in the cooler grip which is not easy to access.

Spider from wire
|
In order to extend the potential applications of couplings damping vibrations, a spider made from wire knitting was developped for our ROTEX coupling. The benefits of the knitted spiders mainly become obvious with applications in the high-temperature range of T > 120° C as well as applications in a corrosive environment, since stainless material is used.

BoWex® FLE-PAC
|
With the BoWex® FLE-PAC, KTR Engineers have again improved the most well-known flange coupling for construction machinery with a hydrostatic drive. On the one hand the carbonic material of the flange allows for longer operating times, on the other the composite design enables a low-cost connection to the engine flywheels with special dimensions.

COUNTEX® 6
|
COUNTEX® Coupling for encoder and tacho drives has been extended by size 6
An excellent design is characterized on the one hand by its simple and user-friendly handling and on the other hand by its reliable performance. Here COUNTEX® which was presented on the occasion of the Hannover Fair 2009 for the first time is the best example.

ROTEX® GS light
|
KTR as a specialist for couplings pays special attention to the demands and special requirements of the market of drive technology by permanently extending the production programme. In the range of backlash-free shaft couplings ROTEX® GS light is one of these extensions of the programme. The ROTEX® GS light clamping ring hub differs from the previous design mainly since it is fully made from aluminium. In this way the weight of ROTEX® GS light is considerably reduced and its mass moments of inertia are lower than those of the well-known design comprising a steel ring by 2/3.

ROTEX® DZ - double tooth elements
|
The torsionally flexible ROTEX® jaw coupling has proven its worth on numerous applications for more than forty years. Now KTR has an innovation for the large ROTEX® coupling: The patented standard ROTEX® DZ does not have the well-known star-shaped elastomer spider, but the elastomer spider is rather divided up into individual segments with two teeth each.

Insulated couplings in Wind Turbines
|
Shaft couplings in the drive train of Wind Turbine Generator Systems (WTGS) compensate for the offset between the gearbox and the generator. These couplings must allow a high degree of displacement as the gearbox and also the generator are generally seated on resilient dampers. Coupling manufacturers offer different concepts for the design of such couplings. ON SERVICE provides a system solution for the WTGS of KTR Kupplungstechnik GmbH, offering more than just the transmission of torque and compensating for any displacements.

KTR presents GEAREX®coupling
|
- KTR Couplings shows its teeth with the launch of its newest product GEAREX! The compact and powerful all steel gear coupling made its world debut in Germany at the Hannover Fair held in April making it the latest addition to the KTR catalogue of Power Transmission products. Established over sixty years ago and now the world’s leading showcase for industrial technology, the Hannover Fair provided the perfect stage on which to set things in motion with the new GEAREX coupling.
- GEAREX is a double-cardanic flexible shaft gear coupling with a compact design suited for a long service life and high degree of operating safety. Its high torques and overall small dimensions make it an ideal choice for a wide range of applications such as pump drives, compressors, use in the steel mill sector, and much more. ATEX approval and compliance with AGMA standards further expands the suitability of GEAREX by allowing it to meet all the necessary requirements involved in working within hazardous environments.
- Another key design feature of GEAREX is its crowned gear spines. This feature, combined with permanent grease lubrication, produces a better friction ratio and minimal amount of wear when dealing with axial, radial and angular shaft displacements.
- Numerous coupling sizes and a torque transmission capability ranging up to 135,000 Nm on shafts with a diameter as great as 276mm means there is a coupling for every size of job.
- KTR Couplings has been eagerly anticipating the launch of GEAREX and the opportunity to supply yet another quality product to its many valued customers throughout the UK.
