Newly developed brake system: KTR-STOP®
The design of KTR-STOP® is based on an existing solution which has been further developed consistently. The materials of KTR-STOP® are corrosion-protected and therefore particu-larly suitable for the following application ranges:
- Onshore and offshore wind parks
- Surface mining
- Crane building, specifically foundry cranes
- Mining with leaching areas
- Mills as well with aggressive atmosphere

DNV type-approval certificate for REVOLEX® KX and KX-D
Couplings from KTR have been used in many industries including marine all over the world for many years. To make sure that the new REVOLEX® KX and REVOLEX® KX-D pin & bush couplings are able to be used in boat drives with higher performances, KTR were granted the type-approval for this range by DNV.

Coolers for marine applications
KTR has supplemented the range of OAC Oil/air coolers by adding a design for marine applications. The rough environment of civil navigation does not allow the use of unprotected aluminium coolers on deck. The salty air would damage the cooler sooner or later. The OAC is protected against oxidation by KTL dipping varnish, even in the area between the laminas in the cooler grip which is not easy to access.

Spider from wire
In order to extend the potential applications of couplings damping vibrations, a spider made from wire knitting was developped for our ROTEX coupling. The benefits of the knitted spiders mainly become obvious with applications in the high-temperature range of T > 120° C as well as applications in a corrosive environment, since stainless material is used.

BoWex® FLE-PAC
With the BoWex® FLE-PAC, KTR Engineers have again improved the most well-known flange coupling for construction machinery with a hydrostatic drive. On the one hand the carbonic material of the flange allows for longer operating times, on the other the composite design enables a low-cost connection to the engine flywheels with special dimensions.

ROTEX® DZ - double tooth elements
The torsionally flexible ROTEX® jaw coupling has proven its worth on numerous applications for more than forty years. Now KTR has an innovation for the large ROTEX® coupling: The patented standard ROTEX® DZ does not have the well-known star-shaped elastomer spider, but the elastomer spider is rather divided up into individual segments with two teeth each.

Insulated couplings in Wind Turbines
Shaft couplings in the drive train of Wind Turbine Generator Systems (WTGS) compensate for the offset between the gearbox and the generator. These couplings must allow a high degree of displacement as the gearbox and also the generator are generally seated on resilient dampers. Coupling manufacturers offer different concepts for the design of such couplings. ON SERVICE provides a system solution for the WTGS of KTR Kupplungstechnik GmbH, offering more than just the transmission of torque and compensating for any displacements.

GEAREX® gear coupling
KTR, who have already invented the BoWex® curved-tooth gear coupling®, will introduce GEAREX®, a gear coupling which is fully made from steel, for the first time. Similar to the BoWex® curved toothing the spline of the GEAREX® has a crowned shape. It distinguishes from BoWex® in a way that the sleeve of GEAREX® consists of high-quality steel, whereas the BoWex® sleeve is made from a reinforced polyamide material.
