Coolers for marine applications
KTR has supplemented the range of OAC Oil/air coolers by adding a design for marine applications. The rough environment of civil navigation does not allow the use of unprotected aluminium coolers on deck. The salty air would damage the cooler sooner or later. The OAC is protected against oxidation by KTL dipping varnish, even in the area between the laminas in the cooler grip which is not easy to access.

Spider from wire
In order to extend the potential applications of couplings damping vibrations, a spider made from wire knitting was developped for our ROTEX coupling. The benefits of the knitted spiders mainly become obvious with applications in the high-temperature range of T > 120° C as well as applications in a corrosive environment, since stainless material is used.

BoWex® FLE-PAC
With the BoWex® FLE-PAC, KTR Engineers have again improved the most well-known flange coupling for construction machinery with a hydrostatic drive. On the one hand the carbonic material of the flange allows for longer operating times, on the other the composite design enables a low-cost connection to the engine flywheels with special dimensions.

COUNTEX® 6
COUNTEX® Coupling for encoder and tacho drives has been extended by size 6
An excellent design is characterized on the one hand by its simple and user-friendly handling and on the other hand by its reliable performance. Here COUNTEX® which was presented on the occasion of the Hannover Fair 2009 for the first time is the best example.

MMC Combi coolers
For the first time KTR presented the new MMC (Mobile Machinery Cooler) combi coolers at AGRITECHNICA completing the range of air coolers. The new coolers are designed to specifically meet the demands of mobile applications in agricultural and construction machinery. Several elements can be cooled in one unit. This saves space and reduces costs.
Combi-coolers are used extensively in Mobile Hydraulic applications. Different elements such as Hydraulic Oil, Gear Oil, Charge Air and Cooling Water can are directed into a single, combined cooling system, which is customised to the required application. The size will vary according to the specific thermal demands and the space available.

Selection programme OAC oil coolers now online!
The right selection is important! With our OAC oil cooler selection programme you will find the correct oil / air cooler for your application. For a correct selection of the oil cooler the following steps are important:
• entry of the max. permissible oil inlet temperature into the cooler • entry of the heat to be dissipated or the oil outlet temperature • entry of the volume flow • entry of the type of oil • entry of the air inlet temperature into the oil cooler • entry of the fan drive • start selection with the button “calculate”

ROTEX® GS light
KTR as a specialist for couplings pays special attention to the demands and special requirements of the market of drive technology by permanently extending the production programme. In the range of backlash-free shaft couplings ROTEX® GS light is one of these extensions of the programme. The ROTEX® GS light clamping ring hub differs from the previous design mainly since it is fully made from aluminium. In this way the weight of ROTEX® GS light is considerably reduced and its mass moments of inertia are lower than those of the well-known design comprising a steel ring by 2/3.

ROTEX® GS Compact
ROTEX® GS is one out of three coupling types which KTR offers in the range of backlash-free shaft couplings. The particular benefits of this design are the easy assembly and the high power density. KTR offers ROTEX® GS Compact as a low-cost design of the GS series. This backlash-free shaft coupling can be up to one third shorter than the standard ROTEX® GS and is offered with axial cut from size 24.

TOOLFLEX® 42
KTR has extended its programme of TOOLFLEX® metal bellow-type couplings M, S, PI and KN by an intermediate size 42. Once again this example has made obvious that the KTR engineers take the requirements of their customers serious and that they are in a position to react to changes in the market within short term. During the period between the TOOLFLEX® couplings sizes 38 and 45 it has become clear that the market demands for an intermediate size.

ROTEX® DZ - double tooth elements
The torsionally flexible ROTEX® jaw coupling has proven its worth on numerous applications for more than forty years. Now KTR has an innovation for the large ROTEX® coupling: The patented standard ROTEX® DZ does not have the well-known star-shaped elastomer spider, but the elastomer spider is rather divided up into individual segments with two teeth each.

Insulated couplings in Wind Turbines
Shaft couplings in the drive train of Wind Turbine Generator Systems (WTGS) compensate for the offset between the gearbox and the generator. These couplings must allow a high degree of displacement as the gearbox and also the generator are generally seated on resilient dampers. Coupling manufacturers offer different concepts for the design of such couplings. ON SERVICE provides a system solution for the WTGS of KTR Kupplungstechnik GmbH, offering more than just the transmission of torque and compensating for any displacements.

New: GEAREX® gear coupling
On the occasion of the Hannover Fair 2009 KTR, who have already invented the BoWex® curved-tooth gear coupling®, will introduce GEAREX®, a gear coupling which is fully made from steel, for the first time. Similar to the BoWex® curved toothing the spline of the GEAREX® has a crowned shape. It distinguishes from BoWex® in a way that the sleeve of GEAREX® consists of high-quality steel, whereas the BoWex® sleeve is made from a reinforced polyamide material.
